Nicky had 28 teeth and not one filling but was suffering from advanced gum disease. She'd been paying for intense hygiene treatment for years and years to help stop her from losing all her teeth. She faced constant discomfort from her gums and wasn't able to eat comfortably.
She knew she needed to do something else because regardless of how hard she tried to look after her gums, it simply wasn’t working. She hated how they looked, they were constantly sore but she was determined to avoid false teeth.
Nicky’s treatment involved removing all 28 teeth, carefully placing a total of 10 implants and fitting fixed bridges, all on the same day. No dentures…ever! Not only did we resolve her gum disease, she looks fantastic, is never sore with her gums or teeth and can eat whatever she wants.

Having qualified from Liverpool University in 1999 I worked in general practice for a few years. It was a lecture from a New York technician who changed my complete outlook on dentistry. I was completely shocked at the difference dental veneers could make to how teeth look. Veneers were my passion for several years but it was only when I started implant training that I realised I could combine functional dentistry with cosmetic dentistry.
Functional dentistry is certainly my main interest. My patients usually seek my help to resolve chronic dental problems including failing teeth, gum disease, failing bridges, missing teeth and/or troublesome dentures. There is an aspect of cosmetic dentistry in my practice but function always comes first. The most perfect functional teeth also look amazing.
I travelled the world learning from the very best in implant dentistry; first training in Manchester before doing courses in New York, Florida and Virginia and then I ended my studies back across the pond in Europe. Although I’ve placed over 5,000 dental implants and treated many thousands of my own patients, I still place the utmost importance on continual learning and education. In fact, I’m due to travel to Brazil in a few months to continue learning the most advanced forms of implant dentistry.
