Sinus Lift

What is a Sinus Lift?

A Sinus Lift is a Bone Graft procedure when there is not enough bone quantity to support the length of a dental implant in the maxillary sinus (located in your upper jaw, approximately where your premolars are). The sinus membrane is carefully lifted upward, and bone grafting material is inserted into the floor of the sinus to help encourage a patient’s natural bone to grow so there is enough bone to support a dental implant.

Why would I need sinus lift treatment?

This treatment may be required when upper teeth around the sinus area have been removed and there is just a thin wall of bone separating the maxillary sinus and the mouth and there is not sufficient bone to support the implant into position.

How many appointments would be required?

This treatment is generally conducted on the implant placement appointment and the patient will be reviewed one to two weeks later.

As with any dental treatment there are risks, if you are considering treatment similar to above then you are required to read, understand and sign any relevant consent forms following an agreed treatment plan with one of our Dentists.
